Every November, hundreds of thousands of men grow a moustache to raise awareness of men’s health issues through the Movember project. Metro joined the movement with a fun contest both in-paper and online across the three markets. Readers were asked to share pictures of their 'mo' using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the #MetroStache hashtag. Photos were prominently displayed on a rotating slideshow throughout the campaign. At the end of Movember, Metro ran a sponsored spread of some of the great moustaches submitted. A winner was randomly selected in each market to win a prize.
I came up with the concept and sales sponsorship package (sold in the New York market), designed all the branding (ads and social media branding) and provided direction for all involved in the campaign.
